How to Prepare Your Dog for Summer
Summer is a wonderful time for walks and outdoor play with your dog, but high temperatures can be dangerous to its health.
Here are a few important tips:
-
Provide plenty of water - always carry drinking water on walks
-
Avoid the hottest hours - walk early in the morning or in the evening
-
Never leave your dog in a car - even for a few minutes, the temperature inside can become dangerous
-
Protect the paws - hot asphalt can burn delicate paws
-
Provide shade and cooling - make sure there is a cool place to rest
If you notice signs of heatstroke (heavy panting, confusion, vomiting), see a vet immediately.
