Differences in breed, age and activity level determine your pet’s specific nutritional needs.
Small breeds (up to 10 kg)
By the time they reach adulthood, small-breed puppies increase their birth weight up to 20 times. The energy requirements of small breeds are twice as high as those of large breeds. Feed your puppy three times a day until 6 months of age, then twice a day. Small breeds reach their adult weight at 10 months.
Medium breeds (11-25 kg)
Medium-breed puppies reach adult weight at 12 months of age. They increase their weight 40-50 times during the first year. Adjust the daily portions to your dog’s actual needs.
Large breeds (25-44 kg)
Growth continues for a minimum of 15 months, in two clearly distinct stages. Pay particular attention to proper mineralisation of the skeleton.
Giant breeds (over 45 kg)
They reach adulthood between 18 and 24 months. Growth passes through three stages. Watch out for excess weight, which puts strain on the joints.
